Inter-Dojo JKA League

New for 2010!

On March 21st 2010, the inaugural season of The Inter-Dojo JKA Karate League between CJKF dojos will commence.

Similar to a season of sports such as soccer, or hockey, these "league matches" will take place at Sensei Ray's Dojo, The World Class Karate Studio, one Sunday of every month (not including summer months June-August) from 10am to approx 12:30pm.

Results from each "league match" will be accounted for and tabulated at the end of each season. At the end of the season trophies will be handed out to the top 3 individuals of each division as well as dojo T-shirts for every participant.

We will also be planning an end of season banquet dinner as well. The events will be Individual Kata and Individual Kumite only, no Team Kata event. However, we will still have the Team Kata event at our Provincial Tournament in May. This league is only open to CJKF brown and blackbelts.

The cost for each participant is $25 for the entire season (payable to Peel JKA).

OLDER NEWS

JKA International Training Camp 2009 Ottawa August 21-23, 2009

The following were the results of the camp:

Vincenzo Mazzei-5th Degree black Belt (Godan)

JKA Instructor/Judges Qualifications:

Vincenzo Mazzei- D Instructor, D Judge

Nicolas St-Germain- D Instructor, D Judge

Martin Forgie- D Instructor

During August 21-23, 2009, seven members of Caledon Karate attended the first ever Gasshaku ( International camp) in Ottawa, Ontario. They were Vincenzo Mazzei, Herbert Liu, Dan Sabadics, Darcy Motomura, Martin Forgie, Julie Gagnon, and Nicolas St-Germain. The camp was well attended with 300 black belt members and led by high level ranking JKA Instructors namely, Masters, Ueki, Tanaka, Osaka and Kobayashi. This was the first camp of its kind in Canada and the training was top notch! These instructors are full time at the JKA headquarters in Japan and it was easy to see the high level of ability and technique as they performed flawlessly. They were truly inspirational and provided the information for Caledon instructors to pass onto the members of the Caledon dojo.
